Welcome to RyanEthington.com Here you will find information about the artist, his artwork, teaching, and galleries of his work.Primarily known for his bold graphic style in abstract art, Ethington also enjoys working on photography, and in the studio on printmaking and landscapes. Nature has inspired Ethington in his paintings, photographs and prints."As a visual learner art has brought to me much insight into the world and myself. Painting has assisted me to appreciate listen and see more clearly the beauty of nature and all there is to learn from creation. Nature is my teacher as each painting enlightens new stories. I always say that art is a powerful form of visual communication, and it can be empowering as well, art can change the world."Ethington grew up in Northern California at the foothill of Mt. Diablo. He attended Point Loma Nazarene University for his BA in Graphic Communications, where he developed a love for surfing and his graphic style. Ethington also attended National University and earned his MA in Cross-cultural teaching, he loves traveling and teaching kids with diverse cultural background. Ethington recieved his professional training and MFA at the Academy of Art University, San Francisco, CA. Ethingtons love for the outdoors and culture are evident in his highly graphic artworks inspired by his travels and studies.Ethington is also a highly sought after instructor. He has a hands on approach to teaching that involves sharing his technique and knowledge, yet he is always focused on the individual student needs. He has been teaching Advanced Art classes at Westmont H.S. Campbell, CA and High Tech High, San Diego, CA, and various workshops. Some of Ethington's other hobbies include running, kayaking, trick roping and horseback riding.
